Hello...I'm looking for some advice, I currently have a Dell XPS 8500 that has an Nvidia 640GT 1G, DDR5 video card. I am not a gamer, only watching Blu-Ray movies, a little video editing, etc. Can anyone recommend a card that would be a nice upgrade from the 640, as well as compatibility with the Dell machine, for under $200.00? Thanks for your time...

What applications are you using exactly that you feel needs additional speeding up?

Unless your applications are designed to take advantage of it, not sure a video card upgrade will help you.

Also, could you list down your Dell's specs? CPU/RAM/PSU if possible.

HD7850 or even HD7870 would be great update from that GTX640 that you are currently using.

A good stock overclocked GTX 660 would be a good choice. But if you try hard, you could find a GTX 660 ti on forums with less than $50 extra, but worth the extra performance.

Its going to have a 460w PSU if it is stock methinks, beyond that we can only guess on RAM and I'll go out on a limb and say a 3350P processor but it could be a 3770

I agree with MDA on both needing more info but also that I don't know if a video card is going to do much for you if you aren't gaming.
