Ok I don't have a good idea for an upgrade for my current system and some info would help. Most of it is pieced to gether or hurry replaced when a part failed. Here is my specs:

Phenom II 945 *minor oc to 3.3* w/ Zalman 9500 Nvidi Ed. *nickel plated with green light in fan
MSI 790xt-g45 *CORRECTED TO RIGHT MODEL*
4x 1gig pc6400 GSkill Standard not ripsaw
XFX 5770 Ref card
Aerocool 620w ZeroDB power supply
WD 1T Black
WD 500G Black
WD 1T Green
CoolerMaster Elite 330 Case
Acer 23" 1920x1080 lcd

Games played: BF3, Second LIfe, BF2, Skyrim, Medal of Honor 2010,
Duel boot with win7 and xp until I get everything moved and working.

I have a limited budget so I'm looking for something in the $200-$300 US range. *before rebates* Won't have the money for a couple of months.

So here are the questions:
1 Should I get a HD 6770 and Crossfire, Will the power suppply take it?
2. Get a new HD7000 Series when they come out.
3. Or is Nvidia coming out in that time with something.

1) I wouldn't. And unless it was a typo, you can't Crossfire 6770 with the 5770 you already have.
2) Possibly.

Going by this chart by AMD the hd 6770 and 6750 can work with the 5770 5750. Or am I reading it wrong?

^ No, you're right. I was mistaken. I forgot that the 6770 was just a rebadged 5770. For all of the other 5xxx/6xxx series, I would have been correct, but those particular cards are the exception.
 
I always seem to find the odd parts or setup. Like when I had a 88 toyota pickup. I had to use 2 different Hayes books due to the one for the year of the truck didn't cover some parts or setup but the 90's pickup book did.

Thanks for the info. So it looks to be a power supply upgrade to do a crossfire or just using a single card setup.
 
^ That. Wait for 7XXX series to come out, then see if you can get a good deal on 2 used 69XX series cards.

Thanks for the help. The only question I have left is will my power supply run two 69xx cards or will I need to upgrade that to 800w or higher? I know the the power supply does have 2 6pin plugs but on a shared cable.
