Hey guys I am upgrading my EVGA nvidia Geforce 260 to a EVGA nvidia Geforce GTX 560, is that a smart choice? Also thinking about the GALAXY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465

Avoid the GTX465 unless you want to experiment with unlocking (not all 465s can do it, and those that do will run hot and loud afterwards), the 560 is better but try and get a 560Ti if you can. They're a fair bit faster than the standard GTX560s. Alternatively if you're not averse to using AMD, go for an HD6870 - they perform similarly to the GTX560Ti and are much cheaper after rebate.
 
The GTX 560 is solid card and it will be huge upgrade for sure over your GTX 260.

its hardly a huge upgrade at all considering the gtx260 is 3 years old. OP, do not even consider that turd gtx465. its only about 25-30% faster than your current card and is very inefficient. its basically all the downsides of a gtx470 with the performance of a gtx460. at the very least go with a gtx560 Ti and if you really want to play all the latest games at 1920 then I say go with a gtx570. btw was the resolution even mentioned?

Depends what you call huge. Some would call 100% huge, but then if it's 60%, probably not.

those percentages are pretty optimistic but not too far off in some cases. it really depends on the review, game and driver being used. for a more realistic overall comparison I would knock about 10-15% of of those. my gtx570 is not even twice as fast as my 192sp gtx260 was in some games I have tested. and there certainly is not 20% between a 216sp and 192sp gtx260 if upgrading to a gtx560 ti.
