Currently have a Radeon 9500 (with the 9700 softmod drivers) and feel the need to upgrade. I would like to spend no more that $200 with $150 being more reasonable for a new card. I game but not as much as i'd like. Played DOOM 3 on that card and got through it. Current specs are:

Intel 2.6
Intel D875PBZ mobo
Radeon 9500
WinXP Pro

What would you recommend? Thanks

Thanks...

yeah, call me a n00b for not seeing the "upgrade" sticky 1st. After i posted, i saw it and laughed. Ok, thinking of the 6600GT because it's more in line on what i want to spend. One question about the 6600GT, whats the best driver for this card? It took me quite awhile to find those modded drivers for my current card.

Thanks for the reply.

check ati.com's clearance center. $179 for a x800 pro agp or pci-express. theres a 5 percent off coupon floating around here somewhere.

The Nvidia drivers are the only ones you should use.

I'm not sure if anyone is still writing drivers for Nvidia cards anymore...

Thanks for the suggestions fellas. I did some researching last night and Doc's right......just the drivers from Nvidia should be just fine.
