Sages at Hardforum I need your help, my EVGA GTX260 seems to be on the fritz, constantly dying while playing games and other activities. These are not blue screens of death and I've already tried updating my drivers, monitoring the temperatures and the such.

I have a Ultra X3 1000w PSU, so I don't think powering the beast is a problem. I have a budget of about 80-120ish dollars, so I'm not looking for a high end, just a card good enough to play mostly WoW on ultra settings and other not so graphic intense games.

Thanks :)

Do you have the EVGA lifetime warranty? If your part number ends in "AR" you do. You can get a replacement.

It does have the AR in the part number, and apparently it is a past RMA already, and this problem of it shutting down on me has been going on for quite sometime, never really bothered me since I just played my PS3 mostly. Now it is starting to get on my nerves, so a replacement does seem in order, or would it be wise just to get this existing one replaced?

I think it'd be worthwhile to see if you can get it replaced. The GTX260 is still a great card if you don't need/want DX11 stuff, and for WoW, you really don't. Besides, who knows...maybe they'll be out of 260s and upgrade you =)

I would look around for a gtx460 at that price range.. theyre sitting at around 150 right now you might be able to get it lower but when it comes to a gpu 30 bucks can mean a huge upgrade.

That is really strange, I have never heard of them not honoring an for a lifetime warranty part... Are you sure they won't RMA it, or did they just say they would not refund it?

Has that happened before? If so that would be amazing :) I believe they will RMA it, but I'm a bit on the impatient side and would like to have it working asap.

Also I did find a Galaxy GTX460 768 on ebay for 125 shipped, is Galaxy a relatively new company? Haven't heard that much about em before.

It absolutely happens, I have had both GPUs and mainboards upgraded by EVGA for either 1) They don't stock that model anymore, or 2) I had 3 consecutive issues with the same model.

I actually was upgraded from a 680i to a 780i to a 790 Ultra mainboard all off the same purchase without paying any extra.

Amazing! I'm going to start the RMA process as soon as possible, even though it'll stink not having a computer around a few days, I can stand that as long as I'm saving money. Thanks for the responses and suggestions :)

You could always check for some deals in the for sale portion of the forum as well. Hopefully your RMA will work out for you though. If not it will give you a plan B to pick up a nice card for a little less. The 460 is a great choice though and a very good overclocker.

Most times EVGA will offer cross shipping. However, you usually have to register your product within the first month to receive cross shipping. You could ask during the RMA process if they will allow cross shipping, and they may, but will probably charge you a little bit for it. With cross shipping you don't have to wait at all.
