Has anyone else noticed that almost all retailers, especially online retailers are all out of most of the major video cards right now? I was originally going to get a Gainward 6800 GoldenSample, but no one has any since Gainward was sold. Then I was going to get the MSI NX6800 and now I can't find that anywhere either. So I went to zipzoomfly.com, newegg.com and excaliberpc.com to look for option #3 and noticed all three had a very limited selection of cards in stock. This really sux.

Nothing new. Its been like this since the release(or so called release). Huge ass prices and a HUGE ass shortage. Best bet is to sign up for auto notify @ newegg and watch your email like a stalker. Thats what I did .

I wouldn't even bother ordering a video card from Newegg unless they had a good price on one which they havn't had on the higher-end cards. They only started dropping the prices on the 6800 GT and 6800U because nVidia was starting to get larger quantities shipped out to the retailers.

I would check Pricewatch, Pricegrabber and Froogle for the card your looking for. Also monitor the Hot Deals sections here at HardForum.

There is alot of BS companies on pricewatch. They advertise cards that they dont even have in stock and then you have to wait. I say the Trade section on [H] would be a better choice if you wanted it.

Thats what ResellerRatings.com is for. And if your worried about it being in stock then call and confirm availability with them before you order.

Definitely check froogle and bizrate before buying. Newegg is good but not the only cat on the block any longer.
