Video card resets during gameplay

First off, relevant specs...

Core i7 920 overclocked to 4GHz
MSI Eclipse Plus
Radeon 6970 2GB
Windows 7 64-Bit
Catalyst 11.6b

So I can do anything I so choose on the desktop without issue... but within the past few weeks, sometimes during gameplay the graphics card will randomly reset and when the screens come back up, the game I was running at 2560x1600 will be occupying one of my wing monitors (2007FPs in portrait mode) which obviously doesn't work. I thought at first it was a heat issue but even setting the fan to an obscene level and seeing temps in the 60s, it still happened. I left the PC off overnight and this morning, I can't even load into WoW without the card resetting. I tried getting a screenshot of the result afterwards, but when I opened the Snipping Tool, the card started continuously resetting until I rebooted the PC...

...thoughts?

Some more observations...

I tried underclocking to 750MHz... still immediate reset upon loading a game.
Then tried 500MHz... game loaded with no reset.
Then tried 650MHz... immediate reset upon loading game again.

I have a tri-monitor configuration. 2007FP - 3007WFP - 2007FP

If I disable my wing monitors (2007FPs) then I can get a game to load even at stock speeds on the core (880MHz).

Blargh, what does it all mean?!

I would guess (and it is strictly a guess) that you card doesnt like the different size screen when gaming. Other guess is that the secondary video output for the 2007FPS screens is failing
