Video card requirement advice please

I'm building a new desktop built around an i5 2500k. I don't play games. I will be looking to use 3 led monitors (2 for working, 1 for watching hi def movies) simultaneously at 1080 res.

Do I need to get 2 video cards? I could use some advice.
 
nope. AMD Eyefinity offers three displays on a single card. Even a low end 5450 can do three displays. higher end cards will offer more processing muscle on card, but you will have lots of power in your CPU for that. Depending on the systemboard, you might eve be able to also use your built in video at the same time, but I have not tried that.
 
If you go the single card AMD route, in most cases you will need at least one $30 dollar DP to HDMI or DVI adapter if you do not have a monitor with display port.

For Nv you will need two cards.

You can in most case use the integrated solution, if your PC has one, alongside a discrete card from either maker in Win7 for triple monitor.
 
Just get 1 amd 5000 series card. the 5770 would be perfect since you won't have to deal with VGA ports.
