Video Card Recomendation for Dell Precision

Unfortunatly, I have an older Dell Precision 330. Here are the specs:

1.3Ghz P4 (423)
1GB PC800 RAM
2x 40GB 7200RPM drives
4X AGP with 5200 currently installed

I use it for a little gaming here and there and am looking for a video card to give me a little boost in performance. I currently have a Geforce 5200 and it gets the job done. Now I'm not looking for all out performance, the system itself isn't that great to begin with. Currently I can run Doom 3 on 800x600 at low quality and I get about 27 FPS, which I don't think is too bad for the type of system I have. Being that the AGP slot is only 4X I know that I'm very limited with what I can get out of this system but I'm just looking to get decent performance for cheap or less. Any suggestions as to what card would work well with my system and not break the bank? I'm also looking for a 1.8Ghz or better socket 423 P4 to help a little too.

Also, if anyone has an older AGP card that they would like to get rid of (that's better than the 5200 of course) send me a PM and let me know, maybe we could make a deal. I don't have much money to spend, hence the reason why I'm running on a 4 year old machine, but I have a lot of things that I could possibly trade. Let me know if your looking for something.

To be honest, for what you'll end up paying for the processor and video card I really feel that your money will be better put towards building an updated system. You can then sell the motherboard-cpu-ram here, and make up some of the cash. It just doesn't make sense to try and upgrade a system that is so far past its prime to do gaming work.

If you really are set with the motherboard you've got, I'd definetly pick up a new processor (fastest 423 you can afford), as well as a 6600 (non-gt). This evga 6600 seems to be a good bet for ~115, and provided you upgrade that proc, you'll see far better framerates and generally better performance. If you have a poke around the For Sale/For Trade forums here or check on ebay you might be able to find a deal on a used 6600 or 423 proc.

Here is a 1.7 I found on ebay for about ~50 buyitnow, and I'm sure if you were willing to wait around a bit you could find them cheaper. I *believe* that the fastest you'll find is 2 ghz.

Unfortunatly upggrading the mobo, cpu and RAM isn't much of an option right now. With the holiday season coming up I don't have much cash to play with. I was just looking for a little boost in performance. On top of that the chasis I have to work with sucks. It's a Dell Precision 330 which is monsterous and I beleive it's a large ATX form factor or whatever that's called. If anyone have a video thay want to dispose of I would love to make a deal, otherwise I may just wait til after the holiday season and buy a new case and start from scratch.
