I have an ECS P4S5A motherboard along with a visiontek gf4 ti4200 or 4400, dont know, was given to me for free. Anyway after i installed it, i turned on the comp. Right after the windows xp splash screen loaded (the one where the blue bar goes left and right), the screen turned blank/black and nothing else happens. I waited a few minutes but it remains black. I installed the graphic card to another computer and everything booted up fine, and the graphic card worked fine as well. any idea on what the problem would be?

try flashing motherboard bios to latest version (just check mobo rev before downloading bios), then load optimized defaults and see if that helps.

good luck
