video card problems (ati x800 pro)

I just recently upgraded to a new ATI X800 pro video card. The problem, I'll just be using my computer browsing the internet or something and I lose my video. The monitor stays on (as opposed to going into suspend like it does when I shut of my computer) but all I see is black. Any ideas?


Computer:
Barton 2500+
A7N8X Deluxe
1 gig Geil pc3200
350 watt Antec psu
ATI X800 pro (4.12b)
 
the first thing i thought of was that psu is pretty low power...but its probably ok nonetheless. has the card ever worked at all? did it just start doing this?
 
It has been doing this since I bought it, should I return it and get a new one?
