Well i threw this Gigabyte 9550 in my comp for now, but something is strange. i can hear the card actually processing when im playing a game. Is that normal?

urr no,... you DO NOT hear your gpu. its your optical drive or cd drive and thats it.
Thats not what he means.
I get noise when I do graphically intensive things as well.. its almost like interference or some sort of signal noise . I do voice chat with Skype when I play online games and the person on the other end can hear it twice as loud as I do, and they have to turn the volume down its so bad.
Im not sure what it is.. I have a 9800pro, no throttling of course

I had this problem too with my GeForce 5900 Ultra. When I would do glxgears in Linux or something similer in Windows, I hear what sounds like a high pitched Modem sounds comming from my GPU. I know its comming from there cause I took a stethescope (sp?) and listened to my video card and it was LOUD and comming from there.
It doesnt do it with my 6800 ultra on the same machiens, but I have the 5900 in another machines at the moment and it does it there too.
Probobly poor elecrical filtering (Caps) or some shielding or something.
Doesnt really affect the card at all, just nerve racking if you are not used to it

I'm actually getting that on the two BFG 6800 OC's I've had. It seems like it's coming from the caps, and only happens when I'm doing some 3d (ie games). I figure it's no big deal though (although my first card did die on me). Guess I'm not too worried, lifetime warranty and all
