is it normal for a video card to make a high pitched squel noise. not too loud. i heard it and wondered wtf. i enplugged every case fan in my comp, and its kind of hard to tell if its coming from the video card or not, but im pretty sure it is, my ear went straight to the video card. it doesnt make this noise when i post and load windows. it starts making it when i get into windows.

Sometimes if you have smooth scrollling checked in IE you'll get a whine when scrolling. In Internet Explorer go to: Tools, Internet Options, Advanced: Uncheck "Use Smooth Scrolling".

anybody, i guess im kinda anal because my warranty is defiently voided and this video card was only bought less than a month ago

i actaully think it might be my sound card, ill take it out and see if it stops doing it when i get home from work. its hard to tell since the sound card is kinda below the video card. but when i turn up my speakers i also hear a very high pitched noise comin from the speaker, and it becomes louder as i turn it up.

I notice this when I overclock my CPU too far. I can't explain it, but it sounds like what you guys are describing. Annoying as hell. It goes away if I mute my speakers and unmute them again. It doesn't matter if they are actually turned on though.

that is so weird, so when u overclock your sound card or speakers make a high pitched noise, that just weird. i know its not my overclock because this just started happening and ive been at 2.3ghz for months.

The one and only thing I love about having a 9200 is,,,no high pitched fan,,,hehehe. Allthough it is rather slow...

yah but it cant be the fan on mine, watercooled, and that is if it is the video card. i will pull out the sound card tommorow right now, because its late and i dont want to do it right now

i tried disabling the audigy and enabling soundstorm, then plugged the speakers into the mobo. the high pitched noise went away. i can tell the difference in sound quality of the audigy but it aint that bad:D

I had the same problem so i smacked my monitor a cpl times and it went away :D

Problems usually caused by poor shielding on the motherboard. Had a crappy Soyo mb that would make a buzzing sound everytime i moved the mouse. Was so maddening that I finally had to dump the board.

so i need a stupid sound card. i was wondering is there a warranty on an audigy 2 ZS. i dont have the receit i think. and could the PCI slot have cause the sound card to go bad. i dont want to put a new card in that same bottom slot just to eat up a sound card. any clue?
