This is an old first generation Geforce 3 card. Recently I upgraded to a 6800GT, so I wanted to put this into my parents' computer. (They still have a TNT2...) Unfortunatelly this little piece broke off of it. (See pictures.) So I was just wondering if any of you hardware gurus know if the card would still work without that piece. Thanks!

Thats a capacitor (cap) and I can't tell by the traces if it feeds the RAM or GPU. You should first try the card without it. If no boot then try and solder it on. If no boot then you messed up the solder and might just want to consider closing the two contacts with a long line of solder (which might start a fire).
 
Buy a new capacitor and solder it on, should be exactly 330uF and rated at least 6.3 volts.
