so i was recommended to come here to ask some pc upgrade questions.

i'm doing a total new system upgrade, and i have absolutely no idea about video cards. there's so many brands and numbers!! ahhh!!!!

here's what i'm looking for in a video card: price range is important. i don't wanna blow oodles of dollars. i'm looking for something maybe $150 max, but i need a good deal on something. i don't need anything drastic; just something that might play HL2, Counterstrike, and other graphics games like that. so if anybody has suggestions, used vid cards for sale, know where i can get good used computer parts, whatever, please post them. thanks.

[EDIT]
cpu: AMD 64 3000+
mobo: Abit NF8-v
RAM: 2 512k Corsair Valueselect (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145440)

Go with an Nvidia 6600GT, or an ATI X700 Pro. Both will play any game available right now, and in the near future, and cost around $150 or less. You can find some good deals with rebates and refurbs. Check newegg.com. Just search for x700 pro, or 6600gt.
