This is my first post but I've read the forums for a loong time. I have a question about what I should do w/ my video card.

I have an amd 3000+ processor w/ nforce2 mobo and 768 MB Ram
I'm currently using a ati 9700 soft modded pro and really like it. The problem is I'm selling it with another system to get some extra money. I'm looking at some of the newer cards but I don't wan't to get one that will be overkill for my system, and at the same time I don't want one that won't run games like hl2. The 9700 was a good card for me, but I was wondering if theirs anything better for around 150 bucks.
Thanks for the help!

The 6600GT is a huge upgrade from a 9700, and isn't much more than $150, that is what I'd suggest:

eVGA 6600GT $210 (AGP 8x)

Yeah, that does look like a good card. Any other ones out there that can compete with it for the price?

Might be able to pick up a 9800 Pro around that price point. I would suggest getting a little more together and getting a 6800.
