Hello,

Kinda new to this area of the forum, but are there places to ask advice or see what video cards... nvidia or ATI... are best for running a certain game? Specifically COD ghosts and BF4.

I'm just now getting back into gaming from a few years off, used to do CS 1.6, L4D2 and COD MW2.

about $150 new or used. i don't think i can go to modern since all I have is a q9550

That GTX 750 Ti is a little monster in that price range. There's also the R7 260x if you want an AMD card.

Used you might be able to get a GTX 580/660 Ti or something similar for $150 or so.

What resolution are you gaming at?

For $150 used you may be able to snipe a really good deal on an R9 290. I bought a couple @ $175 recently for a friend and have seen others pop up for similar prices in the past week or two.

yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm gaming at an older dell monitor but 1900 x 1200. my CPU is q9550

having a q9550, do you think I'll run into problems with the r9 290? i don't have my q9550 overclocked

is that brand new, used, or refurbished?

and are refurbished cards any different than used? i've never bought a refurb card

Best to call the company that made the card to find out. The contact information should be on the company's website. There are some official reps that hang out here such as MSI, Asus and XFX.
