I have a system that consists of an Athlong XP 2500+ oc'd to 3200+ and 2x 512mb KIngston Hyper X and I'm going to be throwing in a nice video card for my cousin who's coming to visit for a couple months.

It currently has a 9800 Pro 128mb but I want to thee best video card I could before the CPU gets very bottlenecked.

I'm thinking a x1950gt is completely overkill.. So would a x850xt pe be a good choice? Any recommendation is appreciated.. thanks!

Depends on the price. I would not spend $80 on a x850 if a x1950 will only cost $40 more. If you only need a few months then see if you can wait it out.

INHO if you pop in a x1950GT you can get at least another year on your system. The AMD 2500+ (oc'ed to 3200+) is still decent. Many people here may say different but as long at you are playing at a decent resolution you will be fine.
