First: I don't want/need eyefinity.

I have a 4870 right now, and I want to run 3 monitors. I run games in windowed mode, so I want to be able to move the window from monitor to monitor. Since the 4870 only has two DVI outputs, I either need to get a newer card or a 2nd card, unless there's another option I don't know about. Which way would be cheaper?

Also, these monitors will be 22'' - 24'', so I don't really need the power.

You would be better off with another card because the 5xxx series require a Display Port connection (unless you get one of the 6 port ones).

You could just get a simple cheapo card for the extra monitor.

The DP dongle issue is just about fixed as well. More on this next week.

Get yourself a GTX 295 sandwich version. I have one of this and it has 2 DVI and 1 HDMI ports. Also this is complaint with NV surround.
