I've got an Asus V7700 geforce2 gts in my old rig, and recently the fan on it has been making all sorts of unpleasant "relieve me from my misery" noises (loud operation in general as well as occasional loud "scratch" sounds). I don't want to just scrap the card, since it's been an awesome workhorse (and cause I don't want to buy a new one for that system :p), so are there any options for replacing the fan? I read somewhere that the geforce2s did not use standard fans, so...

It sounds like it might be a sleeve bearing fan. A simple google search should turn up how to reoil the bearing. If it is a ball bearing I would lean towards the replacement. Maybe simply attaching a 80mm fan etc might work.
