hey guys, i had something seriously wrong with my hdd, so i reformatted it. sence i got it back im not able to play any video games which is pissing me off, i downloaded directx9, and all the drivers for my video card. it keeps saying something with direct3D and i serched the internet, downloaded it and installed it and still doesnt work, also forgot to mention that whenever i install the drivers for my video card, and restart the first think that pops up is an error message saying something about aticontrol panel cannot open because the driver wasnt installed correctly. i tryed redownloading it and reinstalling it and same thing. can any1 help me?

if that is the cd that comes with your motherboard then yes, sorry im pretty new at this :D

i have the NF7 (maybe the NF7-S...i dont know the difference, or cant tell)

ok i installed the chipset drivers, didnt work, then i installed the ATI drivers and when i rebooted i got this:

WARNING

The ATI Control Panel Failed to intialize because no ATI driver is installed, or ATI driver is not working properly. The ATI Control Panel will now exit.

this poped up even tho i just installed the drivers........

I've seen this problem a number of times through my job.......service pack two is screwing with your system to the point that windows is corrupt...I usually have only seen this problem when the install was done with a slipstreamed copy of xp that had a few things missing....if you know what I mean, try installing off a legit copy of xp and install sp2 after the instal completes....

i keep seeing this:

Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer

in the directx diagnostic tool, is there a way i can fix it?

you may need to make a little stop by your local computer wizardry store. computer wizardry store, haha. :D
