I finishing a new computer that will be used mostly for digital video and photo retouch, but also as a home theater PC.
i920, Gigabyte X58A-UD7, intel solid state hard drive + storage drives, Seasonic x750...
The monitor configuration will be 2 monitors plus one LCD-TV for movies.
I have everything but the video card, because I am very confused about what would work best... here's my dilemma:
Choice A: buying a ATI 5850. It has 4 outputs, so connecting the 3 screens would not be a problem, it's available now and It has audio via HDMI.
Choice B: buying and Nvidia card (260?) and then adding a Fermi when it's available. The new Adobe suite will use CUDA, so it would be desirable considering Photoshop and Premiere will be the most used applications.
Is there any way to connect 3 screens to, say, a GTX260 while I wait for the Fermi card? Will a double video-card configuration be hard to set up?
Or should I just stream video to the television via a PS3 and not bother connecting the TV to the computer?
Sorry for the noobness on this... I never had a TV connected to my PC and I'm having a hard time choosing which path to follow...
