alright, im building a system to sell. and i need a video card. i cant really make a decision on what to buy. im just making it and gonna try to sell it. im not too up to date on video cards. what is the cheapest vga card i can get that can run all the most up to date games? thanks for your help

P.S. i am looking at the 9600XT 128MB

Ati 9800 Pro you can find them on pricewatch for 200 bucks or less...

thanks guys, i was looking at pricewatch, thats where i got all my other parts. i just wanted to ask before i got a card that might not be very good

The 9600xt is a great card, but if you're willing to spend a bit more the Radeon 9800 Pro plays anything out today.

Good idea with the making of the comp then selling it... Id suggest the 9600 XT as it does 1 helluva job... nothing really fancy but it definately not a small time card

ive got alot of time on my hands since its summer, i like building things so i just thought id try making some comps. i just ordered the 9800PRO 256MB, the good thing about this is that im still under 1000$, i just need cpu, ram n HD. shouldnt be much more

thats the most expensive but thanks anyway

That's not the most expensive card by any stretch of the imagination. You can go cheaper than $200 but I wouldn't if your talking about a machine that will play just about anything.

oh yeah i know i can go cheaper. but i got a 9800pro so that should play just about anything. or atleast something with performance, just as long as it plays it then its koo. anyway thanks guys

i have alot of friends that need computers n ask me to build one for them. plus if nobody needs one at the moment or cant afford it then ill just sell it by putting it in the paper. i know thats a bad idea but i dont mind

You can buy a refurb 9700Pro or 256mb 9600XT for under $140 shipped, I'd think about it seriously if I were you.
