I really don't know where to start with this, so I apologize in advance if its all over the place.
When I had the dell pc it had a pentium d 930 @3ghz, 2gb ddr2 667, asus 8800gt 512mb card at 1280x720 I installed fallout new vegas and was getting at the most 20fps with the settings at low, even when I turned the graphic settings up and the resolution up I saw no increase in frame rate.
Now I have the following
Celeron g530 SB cpu at 2.4ghz, 4gb ddr3 1333mhz ram, no video card yet at 1280x720 still. I launched new vegas with fraps running, settings at low like above. I was getting between 20-30 fps mostly over 25. This is with the on board graphics.
So how will a 8800gt affect my frame rate with this new cpu? Guess I'm a little lost in how I can get a better frame rate with the on board graphics. From what I've seen in a review the celeron should be better then a e7300 core 2 duo which is way better then the old pentium d I had. Here is a link to a cpu heiarchy (sp) chart that I found that shows where the celeron stands in terms of performance to other cpus
