I want to be able to play my PS2 on my computer, so right now I'm hunting around for a VIVO or AIW card. Does anyone have experience with doing this? I've read that the video-in is only video and that if you want sound you need to have separate audio capture to your sound card. How much trouble would it be to set this up on a card with vivo?
 
Do you really want to capture or only play? If play only, I would recommend cheap, cheap, cheap internal hardware solution, don't get caught up in hardware/software decoding and encoding since your PS2 will be doing all the work and the PC will be a glorified monitor. It is the capture that kills the cheap cards.

For a dorm room thing this sounds like a good solution: Play TV, PS2 or PC.

Just don't expect stellar encoding/playback/TIVO stuff with a software decoder.
