Video camera drivers?

Obviously when I connect my camera through USB Windows XP tells me I have new hardware, XP doesn't have a driver for it. I don't know if there are drivers for it. Thats my question.

Does my video camera have drivers for it? Its a Sony Digital Handycam.

I'm trying to get some quick video caputred with this Sonic Foundry software, Vegas Video. It doesn't recognize my camera through my firewire, or USB. Last night it was detecting my web cam and trying to capture from that.

I need to know if drivers exist for video cameras? Particularly mine.

I need to know if anyone has any experience with Vegas video, or they might know how to tell me how to setup a default capturing device?
