i have an old 6800OC BFG, and underneath each pair of ram modules are three rectangular boxes on the bottom of the card, one broke off when i installed a heatsink today, what do these boxes do?
Perhaps if you posted pictures people would be better able to identify the component you broke off
However, just looking around online at pictures, they appear to be surface mount components of some sort. This could be anything from a diode to a capacitor to a resistor. Close-ups of the item you knocked off would also help
Repair is going to be tricky, even for someone with SMT experience
