Ok today I just put togather a computer. And the video card wont work. The only thing that I think might be a problem is that the card is AGP 2.0 and the motherboard is AGP 3.0. So do you guys think that is the problem or a Faulty Vid Card?

no that's no the issue. agp 3.0 will also support earlier versions. everything is backwards compatable like that.

try the vid card on another computer.

I tried the card on another computer and it works just fine. I still think that something is wrong with the slot... Because looking at the vid card it has 3 seperate peices that are supposed to go into 3 seperate slots. But the motherboard only has 2 slots.. It still fits fine and everything it just doesnt work. The mothorboard is a brand new gigabyte board heres a link. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...128-170&catalog=280&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1

and heres a link to the card i got. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-140-023&catalog=48&depa=1&section=1

So if anyone could please help me it would mean a lot. Thanks.

no, the 2 slots/3 slots doesn't mean anything, it's just that the mobo didn't put one of the seperators in the AGP slot.

does the computer even get into BIOS? if so, i would reset the BIOS to failsafe defaults....if not, see if you can borrow someone else's AGP card to test in your mobo....if it still doesn't work, send the mobo back

Ya I tried another card and it doesnt work either. Like It doesnt even let me get to BIOS. So I guess Im going to have to get another one

Check the CMOS reset jumper...

You might want to clear it once, too.

If it still doesn't work, after trying 2 gfx cards, I'd call it a dead mobo.
