Symptoms:

System-wide pausing, lagging, freezing.

Probable cause:
VIA chipsets with d-link dwl-g520 wireless network cards

This seems to be a fairly decent issue, reminds me a lot of the issue VIA chipsets had with soundblaster soundcards:

Go there and add your info to the list. I have d-link looking into the issue and pointed them to the forum.
 
Also, those with DWL-520 cards who are having problems getting them to connect in Windows XP can PM me because I have a much older driver that works. It isn't available on Dlink's website either.

Apparently the new ones are shipping with drivers that will find the access point, possibly get an IP but won't communicate. This driver fixes that.
