I'm looking to add 1 maybe 2 more fans to the mesh metal side door on my case and was thinking of using small 1/16" 3M vhb tape to secure them. The mesh pattern doesn't line up with the hole pattern on my 120mm fans and I have a bunch of this tape laying around. Thought it might help with noise reduction also.
My only concern is that the fan may have trouble pulling enough air through the mesh since it wont be sitting flush against it. Thinking of using a Cooler Master R4-L2R-20AC-GP since its an extra just sitting around. Could buy something different if it doesn't have enough static pressure, the mesh isn't very tight tho.
Anyone have experience with vhb tape to mount fans?
