VGA Waterblock

I just received a free Aquarius VGA Waterblock CL-W0038 from a friend and was wondering if I can somehow install this onto my Nvidia 8800 GS GPU.

It looks like it is only for an onboard GPU but I wondered if there is a good way to attach it to my PCIe GPU instead.

Also I Does it make a difference if a Waterblock is for Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX if I have the GS version. I can not seem to find A GS Waterblock out there. I figured all 8800 versions would be ok for my GS?

Last question.... Is there an Sli VGA waterblock out there that fits to both my GPUs?

Think cheap, but not too cheap that it will ruin my $1000s in discount parts I have put into this computer.

Right now I am only cooling my CPU and want to extend my loop to the GPUs and later maybe the hard drive.

dont worry about the hard drive. unless its super freaking burning hot, its no problem at all. as for the block, from what i found, not all 8XXX gpu blocks are interchangeable. though some are and arent listed as such because they need to be modified or in some way messed with to make them fit. ill look around and get back to you.

Pull a card and see if the 4 mounting holes around the GPU (look at them from the back of the card, don't bother pulling the HSF off) match up with the holes on the block's mounting plate. If they do, pick up some RAM sinks and you're in luck. You'll need a second block for your second GPU since you're running SLI, though.

Truth is, you would likely be much better served selling both those cards and the water block and picking up something like a GTX 260 or 4870 1GB to replace them. Either option would be 200%+ faster and likely draw less power too.

this page shows a couple examples of how to mount it on a couple different cards. it claims to be compatible with all ati AND nvidia cards. it looks like a pretty versatile mount system, although not the tightest, and no backplate. dont expect great cooling since this is old, and its TT, but it should definitely be better than the reference air cooling. since it is only for gpu you will need some of these. i recommend these since you dont need the absolute best, and they look good. copper ones are a little more expensive.

dont worry about water cooling the hard drives. google showed that it doesnt really make a difference unless your drives are actually burning hot. and then you just put an 80mm fan on them and theyre fine. on water theyd just be adding unwanted heat to your water loop. as for sli, depending on your board you may be able to use this one for sli. the barbs are coming out the side, so as long as you can put an empty slot in between them like you normally do for sli then it should be fine. remember that sli is used with dual slot cooler cards, and this thing is way thinner than a dual slot cooler. or i may just be misinterpreting yuor question...
