VGA to Component Cable with 2405FPW

Why bother? Why not just get regular component cables to connect to your consoles?The cable you linked to will physically fit, but I'm not sure if the 2405 supports component through its VGA port.
 
just use regular component video. the VGA port is supposed to be used with a computer and the componet vid is supposed to be used by, just that, component video. mixing things up will just result in crappier picture quality, or possible sync issues
 
The goal is to a device hooked up to the component input (i.e. XBox) and another device (PS2) hooked up to the VGA using the cable described. That is the idea and I was wondering if anyone else had done this or if it will work. Thanks
