vga -> svideo connector .... will it work?

i have a laptop to work with for work about an hour away from here and i do not want to go up there and not have my idea work so im double checking it...

dell latitude laptop with both vga and svideo coming out the back... but it will be looked up to a docking station/port replicator by the 200something pin connection on the back (usuall docking station connection)

i wanna know if its completely true that since it doesnt have svideo on the docking station that a vga to svideo converter will indefinitely work...

i dont feel like driving all the way up there for it not to work on these laptops or whatever... just trying to save myself and the company time and money...

only the yellow rca cable is another vga connector
