VGA Interference

I have hooked up at 22" monitor to my laptop.. and getting wavy interference on certain colours...

am I doomed?

What laptop is it? Video card?

Have you installed the correct drivers?

UPDATE...

I just realized that when I run my laptop on battery all the interference is GONE.. (wavy/static) gone..

Whats going on?
