I have the VGA Card stated in the title, and I've been anxious to get a better (quieter) cooling solution for it. I want to know how well a 9800GTX/+ cooler mates to a regular G92 card like the 8800GTS. 90% of the mounting holes appear to line up from the looks of it, I want to know if all of the crucial holes will align and which ones won't, if anyone else happens to have tried this or has both cards on hand (8800GTS G92 and 9800GTX/+/GT/etc). This is the cooler in question: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186027R

Thanks!

yeah they will match up.. all 7 8 and 9 series cards use the same mounting system.. and remember they are all g92 chips.. only one that is different is the shrunken 55nm version on the GTX+..

9800GTX= 8800GTS 9800GT = 8800GT 9600GT= 8800GS 9400(g92)= 8600GT

the GTX is the only card out of the 9 series that isnt a rebadged 8 series card.. but the board layouts are identical..

no problem..

you know what i actually looked up the difference between the 9800 and 8800 versions.. and the cooling plates are a little different..

seems to have a full plate instead of that notched out section that the 9800 has and less screw holes.. but the cards should be identical anyways.. so i dont know why they are different..

I compared the 9800GTX cooler picture to my 8800GTS 512 mounts and theres one or two screw holes that look offset but the rest seem to align perfectly.

I ended up going with a different cooler anyway, it's no big deal.
