Would a vf700 or vf900 be better. The 900 looks more condensed with less surface area. The 700 looks like it would have better air flow on it.

I just ordered a tuniq tower 120 from xoxide and now i'm looking at cooling my overclocked xfx 7900gs.

i'll have to bench my card when i get the cooler in... if i hit anywhere near high 50's i'd love it.. Right now I hit 70 max in supreme commander. 65 -67 in company of heros. man i can't wait to get a cooler

ive the vf-900 on my 7900gs overclocked to 660/1400(download/light gaming box) and it never loads above 50C(ambients about 25C).

I concure... I used the vf700 on my massivly overclocke 7600GTKO, and now my massivly overclocked 8600GTS.. (800mhz/2250mhz) and it idles at 41*c and loads at 50-52*c depending on the application.

Id go with the vf700. And for the record, its very quiet.

XFX website looks like they cover switching the cooler so i think i'll still be good with a warranty and everything.

well id go for the v900 for a few reasons.. one it looks cooler.. two its lighter and 3 its quieter and performs slightly better.. but if your a cheap skate get the v700

I ordered a tuniq tower, and a vf-900 ... yeah baby... ready for temp drops. $95 just in coolers now

that's investment protection : )

I'll post some screenies, and pix of before and after. Key you guys in. Xoxide says the tuniq will be here the 26th, the vf-900 should come from newegg around the same time hopefully. Man I had to order on a saturday.

Good Bye Stock cooling.

it seems to bee a rare find here on the forums. I need to skimp out so I just went ahead and bought bran new. :) Man I can't wait now.. had to order on a friday night. Now I just have 3 idle days where nothing moves.

Anyone know how to monitor CPU temps in Riva Tuner. I followed the guru3d guide on how to get it to show the GPU core and FPS in-game, but now I don't remeber how to just plain monitor stuff.

Dont get to excited, nothing to down you or anything, but your computer wont suddenlly get 50 kagillion times faster, your temps may go down, but ya..... Anyways, hope you like the new coolers and good look oc'ing

Yeah, duh! Doing it for the cooler temps. Hoping my hardware last longer.. Kind of an investment, plus aftermarket coolers look better.

I got my vf-900 today. Took me 3 times to install it right.. :( First I mouted the big fins to the wrong side, then mounted it right, but couldn't get my ramsinks on with the fan on, so I had to take it back off and put it on.. So I got it working and booted up. it idled at 44* and played BF2, and some company of heros. I got somewhere between 70 - 74 on stock cooler, and I started to play, and never got over 52* under load.

A 20 degree temp drop is damn fine. I got screen shots to prove everything, but i'm waiting on my tuniq tower to come in to just post everything at once. I may start a new thread not sure, but damn I love this vf-900

I don't really run overclocked, but I like to get it up there to bench every now and then.
