I have a mouse with no brand markings on it. It is black and very ergonomic, with a blue glowing wheel. The model is MO27FO. From online searches, it seems to be IBM made.

From the IBM driver downloads, this seems to be the only appropriate download:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docvie...context=HW88L&dc=D400&loc=en_US&lang=en&cc=US

The install file says that it will install Mouse Suite, which I am guessing contains a bunch of drivers for different mice that they make. I installed this but it did no good.

I found that I have a CD labelled IBM Mouse Suite Ver 1.6, which probably came with this mouse. I restarted, and when it said "could not find hardware.." I told it to search on this CD (even though I had already installed the mouse suite from IBM website). It said that it could not find the driver files on the CD.

This mouse works fine on my workstation, using the driver "HID-compliant mouse 5.1.2600" I know that I did not install any special drivers on my workstation because I just reformatted it, so I believe this came with XP.

I've tried looking online for "HID-compliant mouse" driver downloads...

I found it one place, here

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/36004

However, "download now" just takes me to the Microsoft windows update...and I have nothing to update. I'm running a laptop and my default mouse driver is Alps Pointing Device. Arg.

So, since I cannot find a direct download and what I assume is the manufacturer's driver doesn't seem to work, I'm wondering is there some way I can copy the files from my workstation to my laptop?

When I click Driver Details on my workstation, it only lists 2 files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\mouclass.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\mouhid.sys

Do you think I can just copy these 2 files from my workstation to my laptop and have it work?

Oh, one more thing...

I first had this problem months ago, then gave up. Yesterday, I plugged it in and it just worked fine, I think it said cant find hardware but just worked anyway if I recall correctly. But after restarting, it was back to not working again, and that is where the above thread picks up.

What type of mouse is it, USB or PS2 ?
Also which type of mouse are you useing now ?

Check in the bios that the port used is set to detect the mouse.
Also in device manager check that your "human interface device" is working and is not switched off to save power, etc, etc.

Luck.......... :D

its probably because you have downloaded the wrong drivers, notice that the part number on the link you provided doesnt match the part number of your mouse...try again. (MO27FO vs. 06P4069)

Try here:
http://www.input-drivers.com/drivers/58/58313.htm

You have to register but im not gonna search any farther for the link than the first site that came up on google.

It is a USB Mouse. I'm not using a mouse now because it won't install properly. All I have is the Alps Pointing device touch pad on my laptop. Sometimes I use my Wacom tablet.

I do not have a "human interface device on my laptop" (I do have this on my PC though).

I don't know how to

Pain Angel,

The driver which you link to is not hosted at IBM's driver sites...it is an unofficial file that some guy uploaded. Nonethless, I registered and downloaded it...and the file is not compatable with WinXP.

I would expect IBM to have the proper driver for their own stuff..
