Hey guys.
I just bought a new case to replace my previous stock case. I went from a Micro Center PowerSpec to AMS gmono case. Well after the move, I noticed my fan and PSU have been blowing out alot of warm air, significantly warmer then when I had it in the stock case.

I have 2 fans, one intake and one output. I noticed my HD were quite a bit warmer. I'm not freaking out too much about that b/c my HD Thermometer says its 30-37*C each. But I'm just a little bugged by how warm my computer is putting out.

Without spending too much money or making my computer look uglier. Do you think I could just take out one of the 5.25" bay cover plates to allow air to circulate through?

Any input will be appreciated! Thanks.
 
I've never even heard of the case you have mentioned. Do you have a pic?

Also you said you have 1 intake and one exhaust. What are the specs on them? Do you have a side panel fan as an option? I can probably say with considerable certainty that taking off the cover plate to a 5.25 bay will do almost nothing at all for your case.

What are your case temps running at?
 
Well it looks like it has room for 2 exhaust fans in the back and it sounds like you are just using the one stock exhaust fan it came with. I recommend definately using that second slot . The front looks like it can take a 120mm fan which would definately increase your airflow but you will have a bit more fan noise if you are picky about that kind of thing. Also the front design of that case is horrible for airflow it has almost nothing to breathe with at all except for what appear to be a few small holes at the bottom.

So do you use like mbm5 or anything? What are your case temps? Did you install the temp monitoring software that probably came with your board? At the very least go into your BIOS it should have a temp reading in there for you someplace.
 
Believe it or not, the case is exactly same as pictured except for that back fan spot. Instead of having 2 spots for 80mm's I have one big spot for either an 80mm or a 120mm. You are right, the case has some trouble breathing but it's not terribly hot. My CPU says it's around 40* and the program I dl'd off my friend says my HDs are 37* and 25*. I'm assuming this is average and fair temps.

The front fan of my case draws almost no air at all. I put my finger there to see if I can feel any wind blowing, no breeze or anything. Pretty surprising that it doesn't even push air w/ the side panel off.
 
CPU at the 40c range is about average for a modest stock air cooler. Definately nothing to worry about there sounds like you aren't in any immediate danger. If you're not overclocking I wouldn't worry to much about it. You might get some added cooling performance by upgrading the exhaust but you'll probably not notice anything drastic.
