I've got 2 859s on my AMDs running 23-25 minutes per frame and an 858 on my P4 2.2 that is taking 40 minutes per frame.

I had one on my main box crap out today at 58% complete. Early termination. This is the first time since the new core has come out that I've seen any problems at all. I did get partial credit for it.

Anyone else see the new "chewys" end early? Not worried, just curious.

Here's a screenshot of Electron Microscope monitoring the workplace garden.
One boxen, a 450, is having trouble chewing on a 160-pt WU.
These larger WUs have increased the variability of my day-to-day production.

I have gotten through 3 of these with no failures.

I think it may be a way to reduce the server issues by increasing the WU size to decrease the number of sessions and transmissions that are occurring .

No need to check stats except for once a day now.

Well, i just lost about 26 hours of work due to a system crash and then the wu starting over again. I know that I have posted in the folding community forums about why the gromacs core wont use check points, especially with the large ones that take so long. They never gave a really good answer as to why they cant use check points like the tinker core does. If I keep losing days worth of work then im going to have to look for a differant project. Right now all of my boxen are running these monsters and so far the only one to survive a hard lock is my server on xp pro. Before it comes up the hardlock was something that I did running another program that froze the system. The protien was at about 78% completed. ok venting is over now, still kinda pissed at losing that much work when this was addressed to vijay when they came out with the 70 pointers not using check points and starting from scratch after a lock up.

Had some power cuts yesterday due to the bad weather.
Did not lose any work due to the restarts.
Had two units finish early and send in results.

Otherwise still running 11 out of 11 on these 160 pointers.

From Stanford about checkpoints.

With Gromacs, these checkpoints can happen almost anywhere and they are not tied to the data recorded in the results. Initially, this was set to every 1% of a WU (like 100 frames in Tinker) and then a timed checkpoint was added every 15 minutes, so that on a slow machine, you never loose more that 15 minutes work.

So if your restarting from scratch then your system is not useing the check points.
Are you running FAH v4.

yep fah 4 on all machines. when it locks i get the check sum error message and it starts from scratch not from a check point. seems to happen mostly with the win98 and winME boxen. It has happened on xp pro to though that is rare, they usually recover from the last frame.

core is dated 17 mar 2004, so im pretty sure im current there. Its just that when I do something to cause a lockup (Its not the protien at fault) I get a check sum error and it starts from scratch, like its not even looking for a checkpoint like it should. This box has been stable for over a year now. I just hate losing that much time when i never lost more than one frame with the tinker core.

Bummer. As far as I know, all 160-pointers have been completing on my garden boxen. I'll check the logs tomorrow. I did have one restart when I was screwing around with the Advanced options in the Graphic client, moving it down from 100%. I won't do that again!
