Hey all,

I have a a8n-e and 2x wd 120GIG 7200RPM ATA drives

I'm getting hiddous values from the raid setup, and I was wondering why they are so bad? I've tried updating the bios of the mobo, and updating the nforce drivers, but it's still hiddous the performance as it's worse then one drive alone.

Here are my results. 13.4MS random access 8% cpu utilazition 59.8 MB a second.

Busrt was 71.0... why is my burst so slow?

Yes, those figures are about right. ~60MB/sec is about the limit for 80GB/platter drives in the outer zones, so getting average read up in that same nighborhood is a nice boost.

Are you raiding PATA (IDE) or SATA drives? If they are PATA, are they on the same cable?

ATA (IDE) on seprate cables

A8N-E does have a raid controller, the nforce 4 ultra is the controller.

Those numbers sound about right, except for the burst. What were you expecting?
