I'm a noob to this whole custom build pc thing. I've only played games at 12x10. I was wondering what the big deal with bigger resolution's are. Is there really a big change between 12x10 or 16x12. Could someone maybe give a screen shot explaining this, or just explain this to me.

There are more pixels on your screen, making a sharper picture and what not. I nevered play games past 1024 x 768 so I really never had firsthand experience. Just the quality of the picture is better, because of the more pixels.
