ok. i bought a new mobo with crossfire support. I currently have a 7800gt videocard. I want to order a ati videocard. will my 7800gt work as a ppu?

Depends on the game. First and foremost they must support PhysX.

Yup, all cards down to the 8400GS can run PhysX...but you won't get great performance out of a card that slow.

The technical requirement for PhysX is an 8, 9 or 2xx series nVidia card with at least 256MB of RAM.

In practice, cards slower than the 9600GSO or 9600GT render PhysX too slowly and will slow down the main video card more than just having the main video card render the PhysX. The 8400GS is particularly bad, reducing FPS by as much as 50 percent.
