Vertical sync with clone view

I currently have a 7900GTX connected to a HD TV via DVI and a projector via DVI also. Both run at 1920x1080. I use clone view with 'vertical sync' forced on, but the problem is that vertical sync doesn't work on the secondary display. If I switch the order of the displays, the vertical sync works on whichever is number 1.

If I upgrade to an 8 series or 9 series card will I still have this problem?

Can someone with a card and two screen enable vertical sync and clone view and try it out for me?

NB: I have also tried different screens and a 6600GT as well, and each time there is still no vertical sync on the 2nd display.

bump. Anyone with an 8 or 9 series geforce and two monitors please test this for me! thanks :)

Well, I don't have that configuration but I somehow doubt you could sync cloned output to two different refreshes.

Maybe I'm not thinking correctly, but I don't see how that would be possible.

you can't set different refresh rates when using clone, both displays use the same so that can't be the problem.

Maybe they have fixed it already though, that's why I'm looking for someone with an 8 or 9 series card to try it for me. It doesn't have to be two big screens, you can tell on any resolution.

I doubt it is a hardware limitation but rather a driver issue. Have you tried the newest WHQL drivers and/or newest Beta drivers? Have you shot an e-mail to nvidia?

Yeah, i've got the latest drivers.

Funny thing is, I didn't ever notice it before with the really old drivers I was using - so maybe the newer drivers are the problem? Although, It might have been there the whole time.

I'm looking to upgrade to an 8 or 9 series card anyway, so I will have to use new drivers if I do that.

Have you tried the e-mailing nvidia part? It may be an unreported bug or something, or they may have the magic secret voodoo trick needed to get it working :)

Yeah, I tried emailing them. Ovsiously it will take a while to get a response though.

Any other suggestions in the mean time?
