Vertical lines with new vid card

I need some input
I just got a BFG 5900 from newegg, and when I boot up it first has some vertical lines during the ram detection, when it looks for devices no lines, then when it tries to boot to windows lines and vid corruption then it loses sync when it tries to load windows.

Please help!
 
i have a Radeon 8500 and i get these vertical line when trying to play UT2003 and Halo but regular UT works fine

is it my Video Card?
 
What do you mean by "trying to play" do you enter the game at all or does it crash? I have never heard of these lines you guys are talking about...but i once had them when i noticed out of nowhere my refresh rate was set to 40hz i raised it back to 60zh-75hz. Are you running at a very high resolution? Sounds more like a monitor problem than a vidoecard issue.
 
should i try not uninstalling the drivers from gf3 and just swap and see what happens?
