Vertical lines showing on Sony Trinitron

I have a Sony Trinitron E500 that's been running great for a couple of years, but lately it has been showing some very noticable vertical lines running across the screen.

There are group of two lines (one green and one red) running at intervals across the screen. The slope of the lines change pitch with resolution and each group is about 100 px apart.

They are NOT the aperture grill guide wires. I know what those are and this is a different phenonenom entirely.

I have looked around in the OSD, and none of the options in there have any effect. Does anyone know what would be causing this?

Sound like retrace lines. There's also a blue set of lines, although they may be a bit too dark yet for you to see easily. These tend to show up commonly on trinitron monitors over time due to a common brightness issue. Assuming you have this brightness issue (blacks aren't completely black) once you fix the brightness issue, the retrace lines will vanish. (I just fixed my problem last week via this fix, am loving it)
