vertical line in laptop display

a few weeks ago i started getting a single pixel vertical line about 1 1/2 inches from the left side of the screen. i could move the display a little and it would go away and sometimes i could sqeeze on the sides of it (plastic border around screen) and it would go away. a couple days ago a second line appeared right next to it so now ive got two lines and the only time they go away is if i actually flex the screen a little by grabbing the top left and bottom right and twisting.

i took apart the screen and have access to the back of it and tried playing around with the ribbon cable but that had no effect... it seems like its a loose connection somewhere since it will go away occasionally.

where else could i look or what else could i do? will any laptop display work or does it have to be the same kind. it is a fujitsu laptop and the model of the screen is cp15060103. i couldnt find it anywhere online.
 
It's probably not the ribbon cable but the soft membrane that connects the electronics to the actual glass panel.

im starting to think its something actually inside the display so that sounds like it could be right... is there any way of fixing this? id like to be able to track down the bad spot and fix it if possible.
 
hook an external monitor up to the laptop if everything looks fine on that you'll most likely need a new LCD screen soon. :( sry but welcome to the wonderful world of LCD's :( BTW replacement LCD's are usually around $1000
 
For $1000 I'd be parking the laptop next to a 2405fpw. I guess I'm not real familiar with them, but I have a hard time believing they cost that much, barring maybe a nice 1680x1050 17 incher.
