Verifying my overclock (4850 bios flash)

I flashed the bios on my 4850 to get an extra 100MHz or so out of the little card. I successfully flashed the card, and i know this by the fact that the fan profile has changed (i can hear the fan change rpm dynamically) and GPU-z reports the overclock on the front page. However, what is confusing me is the gpu clock sensor still reports 625MHz (stock). This is also reported by the overdrive utility, which is disabled but the sensors still seem to work.

Which reading can i trust to be correct?





 
have you tried running furmark or a 3D application to see if the gpu clock increases when you put load on the card? gpu-z is nice for looking at clocks but it really only shows what ever is in the drivers or the bios of the card.. the only thing that matters in gpu-z for clocks is what its showing in the sensor tab..

though another trick you could do is save the bios of the 4850 to your hard drive.. press the green arrow thing next to the bios version then load it up in what ever bios reader you use for ATI cards and see what it shows for the clocks..
 
Yea, i've tried running ATItool furmark to attempt to get it to clock, but no luck. This bios is my own, i saved the original and edited it in RBE. I'm pretty sure i followed the instructions, but maybe i screwed up on that.
