Venice 3000+ Overclocking problem

I don't know really what to search for for this problem so here it is. I overclocked my 3000+ venice to 2.6ghz, and it runs totally stable. Only problem is the memory is running at 144mhz at 100:200 divider. If I change it to 133:200 to get it back to 200mhz the system will not post. I have tried upping the core voltage and memory voltage and neither have helped. Any suggestions are more then welcome.

P.S. It runs fine at normal 1.8ghz and 200mhz memory.

Does your motherboard have a 150:200 divider? If so, set it to that and try setting the fsb to ~267. Check your memory timing, too. If you're setting it to 100:200, the BIOS may be really tightening up the memory timings, which isn't so good if you're upping the clock rate.

I have a neo2 as well, weird those settings should work, but bear in mind with dividers, some extra timings change. 2.9 on a 3000+ is about 289htt, so 133 divider should be 191mhz on the ram. you shouldnt even have to throw extra voltage at the ram, as its really underclocked a tiny bit. Also try to get the latest bios (1.8) and remember, neo2 doesnt actually support the rev e cpu's yet, new bios to be released in a few days. try upping the vid to 1.55, and try backing down on the oc just a tad. remember the memory controller is on chip with a64's, so it does more than just maintain its own stability, it may be ok at 2.6, but only with the ram running really slow.

which bios are you using?

i'm fairly certian that the neo2 only has 200, 166, 133 and 100

also, to make my math easier can you tell us:

what is the max htt/fsb the board can do?
max stable cpu speed?
max stable ram speed? (you may give multible speeds with different timings too, like my gb stick can do 203mhz at 2.5-2-2, 223mhz at 2.5-3-2 and 251mhz at 3-3-3)

It is the 1.8 bios.
I had the HTT up to 300 yesterday stable.
2.7ghz runs somewhat stable, but I chose 2.6ghz because it runs at stock voltage.
For the ram....I have never had very good luck overclocking the ram, it runs at about 205 MAXIMUM.
ht-link is set to 3x.

Yes, I know the ram will only be at 192mhz with the 133 divider, but that is close enough to 200 for me at this point . I have also been playing around a little with the dividers and differnent fsb. It seems that once I get to about 170mhz (not totally sure about the exact number) it stops posting, but only when I overclock. Maybe I will just wait for the new bios to come out and see if that helps out.

at what timings? you probably just need to bump it up to 2.5-3-10-3 in the bios or something

Well last night I tried fooling with it again. I lowered my CPU Multiplier to 8x, and my memory timings to 2.5-3-10-3 and tried upping the FSB to see how high I could get it. With the 2:3 divider fsb 265 was the highest I could reach, 270 would not post. I am lost at this point, it seems like the divider isn't working properly but CPU-Z has the exact value it should be when I can get it into windows. I'll just wait for the new bios and cross my fingers.
