System is :
Epox 9npa+
2 x 1GB Crucial pc3200 (ct12864z40B.m16fd)
Sapphire x850xt
Venice 3000+ cooled by Arctic cooling Freezer 64 with AS5.
Case has 8 fans plus the 120mm on the Seasonic S12 500
After 12 hhours of prime in a hot room in Arizona with no AC the cpu temp was only 45c

Is prime stable at 2250, at 2300 it crashes in prime. Stock voltages, although i tried a slight increase and it did nothing.
Ram dividers didnt help. 3x HT didnt help, ect.

I"d like to hit more like 2400 stable, although i will be happy enough with the 2250 if that is the limit of the chip. I just don"t think it is.

Any ideas fellas?

You have to up the voltage. Stock is 1.360 right? I have mine at 1.584 for 2.7ghz. Also make sure your ram can handle whatever speed you give it.

Just leave LDT and chipset voltage at stock. I see 1.584 in CPUZ but it is set at 1.475x110

Voltage is at 1.5.
Using Clockgen i am up to 2295 and it seems stable, I lowered the HT to 3x and put a divider (166mgz) in.
Why on CPUZ does it still say i am running at 200 mgz on the ram when i set the divider in the bios?

Keep chipset/LDT voltages stock.
3x LDT
1:2 memory divider so you're not worrying about that
Give it 1.5v to see where that goes

Start overclocking, and try 32M SuperPI to check if it's stable. Once you find a speed you wanna stay at, Use Prime95 for awhile to see if it errors out.

My 2.7GHz OC requires 1.55v, so as you can see, it differs from chip to chip.

Cool. Getting further. It must of been that memory holding it back. With that 1:2 divider i am running prime at 2525, 280 HT without problems. If i go to 2550 i get errors in prime. I'll try a little more juice.

Ok, thats the limit of the chip. I think i'll leave it at 2.5 GHZ. 700MGZ overclock, damn i am happy as hell now.

Glad to help out. Just be sure to let SuperPI 32M run thru one full run to make sure it's completely stable. ;)

Ok, with the max voltage that eclipse said was OK with good air cooling (i have 8 80mm case fans, Arctic cooling freezer64 with AS5 and a seasonic S12 500) she is stable at 1610 mgz. Can't go further though. I also got the ram to pass memtest 5 times at the 4:5 divider with a .1 voltage increase. The ram is running at 237.3mgz 3-3-3-8. Not bad for value ram. I have no problem running the higher voltage on the $115 processor.

HTT 290x9

Thanks again guys, 810MGZ stable overclock

drop ur memory to 133 mhz and put the chip at 300 x 9 @ 1.55 vcore and vdimm at 2.9

thats what im at and its nice

i'm running 305 with mem at 133, 2745 mhz, using 1.6v though
