It seems Vega 56 and 64 are currently well in stock at $400 and $500 respectively (newegg...microcenter..etc..)

About time! (The good brands like saphire have already been mostly snatched up at those prices though)

Ah crap, and I just bought my Vega 56 back on the 11th of October for $499. :D (Well, I did get $30 as a gift card when the price went down to $469 and used that on an XBox One X pre order instead.) I am perfectly content and happy with the default cooler on the card but, then again, I was also fine with the R9 290 one as well and this one is quieter.

Vega 56 lives under the ref blower a little happier than Vega 64 with its increased clocks and voltages.

Yes but, I have my 56 pushed and do not notice the noise from the reference blower, at all. Each person is different though so I have not said others do not notice, just that I do not. Thing is, I just I got the upgrade bug and bought it 3 weeks before the price drops, oh well. :D

looks like AMD is making good margins on the reference card it seems. That is why its reported that we haven't seen after market cards already and AMD seems to be squeezing as much as they can. i still suspect the reference cards to sell well at $499.99 and 399.99. I am seeing them be available but sell out quick and then quickly restocked. That just shows that they are selling pretty well at these prices.

The only way i'd buy a 56 is if it's at $399. Anything higher than that and i'll probably just make the move for a 1080 for a couple dollars more.

I didnt know 1080 was a couple of dollars more. Yes vega 56 is available at 399.99. They were in stock on amazon and newegg, May be out now but they are being restocked very frequently. Stock doesn't seem to be an issue now.

Thus the reason why I said anything higher than $399 I'd jump for a 1080. I doubt non-blower versions from evga, asus, gigabyte etc etc will be $399, but I hope to get proven wrong since my eyes are on the 56.

I'd have already sprung for Vega if it had SR-IOV enabled..
I hope someone can hack the bios and sort that.
